Chapter 6 covers the wave nature of light and ideas from quantum theory. It is an in depth look at electronic structure that will give us a solid base to understand chapter 7.

Lecture 6.4a and 6.4b Light and Matter spectroscopy and Coulombs law
                                           Pg 253 # 19,21,25,63,67
Bonus video, good information about quantum numbers and the quantum mechanical model

Chapter 7 is a WHY chapter. Not only is it important to know the periodic trends on the periodic table, it is also important to know why the trends are the way that they are. In the vocabulary list make sure to include the reasoning for the trends. This is a memory chapter so a good set of descriptive flash cards may help.
Lecture 7.1 (formerly 6.5) Review of trends we talked about in class
                                                         Pg 293 #16, 21, 23, 29, 37, 39, 43
